How it Works...

Every time you search the internet, your search results appear on your screen. At the top and side of the results page are some special listings called “Sponsor Results” or “Sponsored Links.” The search engine company has a deal with the sponsors. They’ll be placed in the prime position on the page, and when someone clicks on their link, they owe the search engine company—in this case, Yahoo!—an advertising fee. It’s called pay-per-click advertising.

A portion of that pay-per-click revenue is set aside for our Charity of the Month. It’s just that simple.

Your search goes through Yahoo! Search, and you’ll see the same results as with any other search—except it’s adult filtered to be more family friendly. There is no special tracking of your activity or preferences. They just put a “counter” on the bar so they can add up all the searches and clicks and know how much needs to go to the charity.
